November Craft Club: We’re Having a Craft Swap!

October 21, 2026

You know that drawer, bin, closet, or entire section of your home that’s full of craft supplies you swear you’re going to use someday? The yarn you bought for a project you never started, the scrapbook paper from a phase you moved on from, or the embroidery kit that’s been staring at you for three years?

Well, November Craft Club is your opportunity to clean out your craft closet, make room for your next creative obsession, and possibly pick up a few new ones while you’re at it.

We’re having a Craft Swap!

On Wednesday, November 11, we’re adding a little something special to our regular Craft Club meetup at The Churchill in downtown Phoenix. Bring your new, unwanted, or gently used craft supplies, add them to our community swap, and browse what other crafty people have brought along.

I’ll provide bags so you can take home your new treasures, and maybe we’ll all leave with a little less clutter and a little more inspiration.

How Does the Craft Swap Work?

It’s pretty simple, because I don’t think anybody wants to spend their Wednesday night calculating the trade rate between embroidery floss and watercolor paper.

1. Clean out your craft supplies.

Gather those materials that are still perfectly good but aren’t serving you anymore. Maybe you bought too much for a project, tried a hobby that wasn’t for you, or simply have more craft supplies than any reasonable person needs. (No judgment, obviously.)

2. Bring them to November Craft Club.

We’ll have a designated swap area where you can drop off your supplies. If you have lots of small items, please bundle them together or organize them into little bags before arriving.

3. Browse the swap and find something new to you!

Once the swap opens, you’re welcome to browse and take home supplies that catch your eye. I’ll provide bags for your finds, so you don’t have to bring anything extra to carry your new goodies home.

There’s no purchasing, bartering, or one-for-one trading involved. This is just an opportunity for our little creative community to share some supplies, discover something different, and put perfectly good materials to use.

All I ask is that you’re thoughtful about what you take and leave some goodies for other people to discover!

What Can I Bring?

Just about any craft supplies that are still clean, usable, and in good condition! Some ideas:

  • Yarn, crochet and knitting supplies
  • Embroidery floss, hoops, and cross-stitch supplies
  • Fabric, felt, ribbon, and sewing notions
  • Scrapbook paper, cardstock, stickers, and washi tape
  • Beads, buttons, charms, and jewelry-making supplies
  • Drawing and coloring materials
  • Paints and art supplies in usable condition
  • Craft kits, patterns, and supplies for hobbies you’ve moved on from
  • Miscellaneous materials someone else might turn into something wonderful

Your supplies also don’t have to be brand new! Leftovers and partially used materials are absolutely welcome, as long as they’re in good condition and somebody else can reasonably use them. Please leave behind anything broken, dried out, leaking, unsafe, or otherwise unusable. We’re giving supplies a second life, not asking our crafty friends to take out our trash.

Do I Have to Bring Something to Take Something?

Nope!

Craft Club has always been about making creativity and community accessible, and the swap is no different.

If you have supplies to contribute, amazing! If you’re new to crafting and don’t have a collection of supplies yet, you’re still welcome to browse. And if you’re just coming to work on your own project and hang out, that’s great too.

You don’t have to participate in the swap at all to come to Craft Club. This isn’t about who brings the most, takes the least, or has the fanciest supplies.

Is Regular Craft Club Still Happening?

Of course!

Craft Club is still the same free, low-pressure, bring-your-own-craft meetup you know and love. We’re just adding a community craft supply swap to the November gathering.

Bring your current project, grab something to eat or drink if you feel like it, and come spend a couple of hours making things with other crafty people. You can be as social as you want to be, whether that means introducing yourself to everybody at the table or quietly working on your project with some company.

November Craft Club Details

Wednesday, November 11, 2026

7–9 PM at The Churchill in downtown Phoenix

  • Craft Swap drop-off begins at 7 PM
  • Community swapping begins around 7:20 PM
  • Regular Craft Club continues throughout the evening
  • Free to attend, with no purchase necessary
  • Bring your own craft if you’re planning to craft with us

We’ll wrap up the swap before the end of the evening, so please be prepared to help take care of any supplies that remain if needed.

I started Craft Club because I wanted more opportunities for people to get together, make things, and enjoy being creative without all the pressure that can come with organized activities. This feels like a pretty natural extension of that idea.

Craft supplies can be expensive, our interests change, and sometimes you just need somebody else to appreciate that perfectly good thing you’ve been hanging on to for absolutely no reason. Maybe your abandoned hobby is somebody else’s new favorite thing.

I can’t wait to see what everybody brings. See you at Craft Club!
