I planned three days back at Thrive Coworking for Women, and that was the second-best decision I made this week. The best decision was leaving the job that had been making me miserable.

The women at Thrive have helped me grow in ways that are hard to put into words. They’re some of my absolute best friends. I first started coming to Thrive in 2023 because I needed somewhere to work that wasn’t my house. At the time, my long-term relationship was falling apart, and we were both working from home.

Fun fact: it’s really hard to focus on work when your partner also works from home, and you can’t stand each other. All I needed was a place to work but in the three years since I first came for my tour I’ve both found and helped grow an amazing community.

These women have been with me through so many phases of my life. They helped me navigate the end of a nine-year relationship and, a year later, enter the dating world at 30 for the first time. They supported me through launching my freelance services and then, just as importantly, scaling them back as I continue to figure out what kind of work and life actually feels right for me. They’ve been there as I found my confidence again as a content creator, as a woman in my 30s, and as someone who’s still figuring things out in real time. Their experiences, advice, and support aren’t listed on the Thrive website as membership perks, but they’re definitely there.

Thrive is also one of the places where I get to express my mind the most. I love solving problems about visibility, reach, and engagement. I love figuring out how to set up website systems that actually work for small businesses and creators.

It didn’t take long for me to get up to my usual tricks this week — talking through website platforms with friends, brainstorming ways to integrate email systems and payment tools, and figuring out how people can manage memberships or communities more easily. Creative problem-solving, storytelling, and project management are my wheelhouses, and it felt so good to feel my brain light up again.

In just three days, I busted out six pieces of speaking content ready to post and filmed a ton of b-roll I can use later. Being at Thrive jumpstarts my creativity in a way I didn’t realize I had been missing so much. But now that I’ve come back, I know I need to prioritize being here, even if that means using a little time off to work on my own projects.

The way it felt to be received back for even just a few days after being away for almost 4 months was something I’ll cherish forever. One of my friends, Meghan, told me she heard my voice from the kitchen and thought she was imagining things. Imagine being somewhere your voice is recognized, and people come running to say hi! To be known and loved the way I am at Thrive is part of the magic of this place.

There’s also something powerful about spaces intentionally built around women supporting women. A coworking space for women isn’t just a desk and Wi-Fi. It’s a room full of people who understand the realities many women are navigating in work and life — building careers, starting businesses, leaving relationships, trying new things, and figuring it all out in real time. Research backs this up, too. Studies have shown that women are more likely to thrive professionally in environments where collaboration, mentorship, and psychological safety are part of the culture. That’s exactly what coworking for women creates: a place where growth isn’t something you’re chasing alone, and you don’t need to be less of a woman to be successful.

Changing your scenery can boost productivity. But coming somewhere where who you are and what makes you special is genuinely welcomed and celebrated? That’s worth more than any membership fee. The impact this kind of environment has on your confidence, creativity, and work is impossible to measure.

Thrive Coworking for Women offers a lot of different co-working options from drop in memberships to dedicated desks and offices – if you’re in the area on a Friday and need a place to work, definitely check out Free Friday at Thrive!
