Welcome to the Weekly Joy Report: picking up where I left off, new steps to grow in my business, pop culture content queen, planning my 32nd birthday

I realized no one but me will notice (or care) if these aren’t always weekly

I missed two weeks of Joy Reports after doing the first one – oh well. I’m getting better at just picking up where I left off after stumbling rather than scrapping plans that don’t go perfectly the first time.

It was also a good reminder that the best ideas will stay ideas unless you make time to put in the work to make them real.

I started making plans for my 32nd birthday

I started making plans for my 32nd birthday

I turn 32 next month, and I’m so excited! I’m planning a weekend-long celebration so that there are as many chances as possible for my friends and loved ones to join me for one of the layers of the weekend. One of the hardest parts about adult birthdays is finding a day and time to get as many people as possible together – if you make it a whole weekend thing, then people can pop in and out as their schedule allows, and you get more QT overall with the people you want to celebrate with!

I nailed posting content related to a current pop culture event in a timely fashion

I nailed posting content related to a current pop culture event in a timely fashion

You have to have heard by now – Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged. I capitalized on this huge pop culture moment with a funny piece of content about dating, and this post saw the widest reach I’ve had on a piece of content in a while, almost 20,000 views across both TikTok and Instagram.

It felt awesome to see the news, think of an idea and a trending sound, and have it posted within an hour. A key factor to success that I struggle with, especially as a content creator, is being able to capitalize on relevant trends and events in a timely fashion.

I built a page on my website from scratch to better promote my Content Marketing services

I finally spent the time to build out a Content Marketing service portfolio on my website so that I have something to share with potential clients and contacts on the go.

I’m really proud of the amount of skills I’ve developed and can now offer to others, and it’s always fun to build something from scratch and watch it come to life.

See you next time!
